Question
I refer to the Fourth Session of the Legislative Council Estimates Committee held on Thursday 28 August 2025 where Mr Peter Woronzow advised:"Where we require land for a road project, voluntary or involuntary, we assess the value of the land taken using the Valuer-General services, and they will take into account any enhanced value and the natural value of that land. So, if the property is treed or if the property has already been cleared, that will be taken into account in the methodology used by the Valuer-General to come up with a value that we will offer in terms of compensation."Noting the statement above, will the Minister provide the results of the Valuer General’s compensation assessment for 764 trees lost on the resumption of portion of Lot 23 Link Road Albany for the Albany Ring Road construction which remains unresolved for the last 6 years?
Answer
The claim relating to Lot 23 Link Road, Albany, remains under consideration in accordance with established statutory processes.
