Karratha Women's Place—Funding
367. Hon Julie Freeman to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Health:
I refer to the
answer to question without notice 285 regarding Karratha Women's Place and the
statement that North Metropolitan Health Service is currently undertaking an
evaluation of the ongoing delivery of community services.
(1) When did the evaluation process
commence?
(2) When is the evaluation scheduled to
be completed?
(3) Will Karratha Women's Place continue
to receive interim funding support while the evaluation and procurement process
is underway?
(4) Given the significant uncertainty
facing Karratha Women's Place, why has the minister declined requests to meet
directly with the organisation regarding its ongoing funding and service
delivery concerns?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. The following answer has
been provided by the Minister for Health.
(1)–(4) The North Metropolitan Health Service–led
evaluation process commenced on 30 July 2025 and is ongoing. Any future
allocation of public funding will be subject to appropriate government budget
processes, and will require organisations to demonstrate suitable governance,
financial management and accountability arrangements to ensure public funds are
managed responsibly and services are delivered in the public interest. The
Minister for Health met with Karratha Women's Place in 2025.
