Unlawful consorting—Notices76.Hon Nick Goiranto theminister representing the Minister for Police:I refer to our state's anti-consorting laws and the answer to my question without notice 1122 of 18 November 2025.(1) How many consorting notices have been delivered to date under theCriminal Law (Unlawful Consorting and Prohibited Insignia) Act 2021?(2) How many have been issued to child sex offenders?(3) Is the minister aware that the Ombudsman reported last year that the WA Police Force had determined that none of the 1,069 convicted child sex offenders assessed currently meets the legislative conditions for the issue of a consorting notice?(4) Under the previous regime set out at section 557K(4) of the Criminal Code, had any warnings or charges ever been issued?

Hon Matthew Swinbourn replied:I thank the member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the Minister for Police.(1) It is a total of 17.(2) The Western Australia Police Force is unable to provide a response for this question as the attribution of notices to child sex offenders relies on data for criminal convictions, which is owned by the Department of Justice.(3) Yes.(4) Yes.
