391. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Energy
and Decarbonisation:
I refer to the need
for additional peak gas generation to underpin the state's energy transition.
(1) Has Synergy been asked to model a
business case for 300 megawatts of additional peak gas generation capacity
through either the construction of generation or the provision of power purchase
agreements?
(2) Is Synergy modelling a business case
for any other additional peak gas generation and, if so, how much?
(3) Which state-owned gas-fired
generators have age-based retirement dates prior to 2035, and what is the
capacity of those generators?
