The Geraldton Health Campus Redevelopment Project is the biggest redevelopment of the facility since the early 2000s under the previous Gallop Labor Government.
Works have commenced on the $38.4 million Radiation Oncology Unit – the first of its kind in the Mid West – and once complete, will deliver a tertiary radiotherapy service enabling complex cancer cases to be treated locally. A contract variation was issued to the contractor delivering the Geraldton Health Campus redevelopment to deliver the oncology unit. This allowed construction work to commence sooner. The redevelopment continues to create jobs for locals, with more than $10 million in contracts awarded to Mid West businesses.
