Lot 4 Elizabeth Quay—Development approvals
366. Hon Neil Thomson to
the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Planning and Lands:
I refer to the
ongoing delays in the completion of EQ West and the failure to materially
commence development on lot 4 Elizabeth Quay, despite preferred proponent
status having been awarded more than nine years ago.
(1) What is the current status of
development approvals relating to lot 4 Elizabeth Quay, and when will those
approvals expire?
(2) Has the minister sought advice from
DevelopmentWA regarding alternative options to facilitate development of the
site?
(3) If yes, what was that advice?
(4) Given the ongoing shortage of hotel
and short-stay accommodation in the Perth CBD, what action is the government
taking to ensure this strategic waterfront site is actually developed?
