❓ Hon Steve Martin questions the Transport Minister regarding the Westport project's cost, specifically whether potential revenue from Fremantle redevelopment was considered to offset the $7.2 billion Kwinana port cost. The Minister confirms it was not, and no estimate has been conducted.

Question
I refer to the Westport business case summary, and I ask:(a) can the Minister confirm that the estimated $7.2 billion estimated cost to government for the new Kwinana container port does not include any proceeds resulting from any redevelopment of land in Fremantle (i.e., as part of the opportunities canvassed in the Future of Fremantle section);(b) has any estimate been conducted on the potential mitigation to the cost of Westport by the development of opportunities in Fremantle; and(c) in relation to (b), understanding that this is a significant hypothetical but a very relevant consideration for a future planning and costs process, what is the dollar amount estimate and what assumptions underpin it?
Answer
(a) Yes.
(b) No.
(c) Not applicable.
