Banksia Hill Detention Centre and Unit 18
319. Hon Dr Brad Pettitt to the minister representing
the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to youth detention and ask that the minister
please provide the following information on Banksia Hill Detention Centre
and unit 18 respectively for March and April 2026:
(1) What was the number of suicide and
self-harm attempts?
(2) What were the monthly average
out-of-cell hours?
(3) What was the number of occasions a
young person spent 20 hours or more in their cell?
(4) What was the number of occasions a
young person spent 22 hours or more in their cell?
