Workplace fatality—North Rankin Complex37.Hon Tim Cliffordto theminister representing the Minister for Industrial Relations:We are approaching the 1,000-day anniversary of the death of Michael Jurman on Woodside's North Rankin gas complex. The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) works in conjunction with state and federal resources ministers—the joint authority—to regulate safety and conduct inquiries in Commonwealth waters.(1) Can the minister assure the Council that she will work with the minister who is part of the joint authority to pursue an accident inquiry outcome from NOPSEMA?(2) If yes to (1), can the minister commit to obtaining a progress report for the inquiry, bearing in mind thatMr Jurman's family have been waiting for more than two years?

The following response has been provided by the Minister for Industrial Relations.The minister conveys her sincere sympathies to Mr Jurman's loved ones for their loss.(1) Safety regulation for the North Rankin gas complex is under the jurisdiction of the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA).
