I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. I provide the following on
behalf of the Minister for Housing and Works.
(1)–(2) Public housing tenants seeking transfer
are housed, and priority for allocation is for those who are on the waitlist
and may not be adequately housed or who may be homeless. Waitlist data is
point-in-time data only. As at 30 June 2025, there were 2,899. As at 31 March
2026, there were 3,101.
(3) Applicants in Western Australia are
not required to disclose their ethnicity when applying for public housing;
therefore, a breakdown of the data cannot be provided with a high level of
certainty.
