It is very true that
we are a pro-housing government in everything we do in the vast number of

The Speaker: Members, let the minister respond.
Mr John Carey: Of course, we have seen extraordinary
growth since COVID, with housing completions up 46% since 2022, and our
construction industry workforce is at record levels. The latest data shows that
commencements are going up with strength, and we look forward to those homes
being delivered.
Ms Sandra Brewer interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Cottesloe!
Mr John Carey: We look forward to those homes in the
pipeline. As the Deputy Premier has said, we will be building on our record $6.3 billion
in social and affordable housing programs, and I look forward to the budget.
