These regulations amend the Building Regulations 2012 to modify the Building Code (2022 edition) and introduce a transitional provision related to building permit applications made between May 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025.
Building contractors, certifiers, and homeowners are affected by changes to energy efficiency requirements and other technical standards in the Building Code. The transitional provision allows for the use of either the current Building Code or the 2019 edition for certain permit applications.
