Electricity Industry Act 2004

These regulations amend the Australian Energy Market Operator (Functions) Regulations 2015, the Electricity Industry (Wholesale Electricity Market) Regulations 2004, and the Electricity Transmission Regulations 1996 to address distributed energy resources and update voltage standards.

Network operators, electricity generators, and market participants will be affected by changes to voltage requirements, civil monetary liability, and compliance obligations. Consumers may see improved grid stability and integration of distributed energy resources.
