These regulations amend the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 to modify provisions relating to attendance at council and committee meetings by electronic means, including defining 'natural disaster' and 'relevant period', and setting limits on electronic attendance.
Local government councillors and committee members are affected by changes to rules about attending meetings electronically. Councils must consider location suitability for electronic attendance. New rules apply to closed meetings and confidentiality.
