These regulations amend the Mining Regulations 1981, Offshore Minerals Regulations 2010, Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Regulations 1987, and Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Regulations 1990 to prescribe the Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 (GDA2020).
Mining and petroleum operators are affected by the change to GDA2020, which is now the prescribed geocentric datum for activities under the relevant Acts. This ensures consistency with current national standards for spatial data.
