These standards amend the Bush Fire Risk Treatment Standards 2020 to update the definition of Aboriginal sites in relation to bush fire risk treatment. It replaces a clause with a reference to the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972.
Landowners and managers undertaking bush fire risk treatment will need to ensure they are identifying and managing risks associated with Aboriginal sites as defined under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972. This may affect how they conduct hazard reduction burns or other risk mitigation activities.
