๐ Mutual Recognition (Western Australia) (Temporary Exemption) Regulations 2023
These regulations temporarily exempt certain provisions of the Environmental Protection (Prohibited Plastics and Balloons) Regulations 2018 from the mutual recognition scheme. This exemption applies to provisions relating to prohibited plastic items that are not prescribed drinking straws, plastic bags, or plastic items as defined on 28 February 2023, and to Parts 3A to 3C.
Businesses and individuals operating under mutual recognition principles may be affected by the temporary exemption, as they may need to comply with the specified provisions of the Environmental Protection (Prohibited Plastics and Balloons) Regulations 2018 in Western Australia, even if their practices are compliant in another jurisdiction.
