These regulations amend the Firearms Regulations 1974 to exempt certain law enforcement and government personnel from specific restrictions related to firearms, major firearm parts, sound suppressors, and ammunition under certain conditions.
Members of the WA Police Force, employees of relevant government departments, members of other State/Territory police forces, and members of the Australian Federal Police are affected. Approved government departments are also affected, as they can now be licensed to possess and use specified items under certain conditions.
