These regulations amend the Contaminated Sites Regulations 2006. They redefine who is considered to be linked to a contaminated site, specifically adding owners, occupiers, and mortgagees of land that is either a source or affected site. They also remove a regulation and specify how appeal decisions are published.
Owners, occupiers, and mortgagees of land near contaminated sites will be more clearly identified as potentially impacted parties. The public will be able to access appeal decisions online. Reg 15 is deleted, removing obligations or permissions.
