Young Offenders Act 1994

These regulations amend the Young Offenders Regulations 1995 to update definitions, address the use of force (including capsicum spray), and outline procedures following the use of force on detainees.

Custodial officers and young detainees are affected. Custodial officers must adhere to new rules regarding the use of force, including authorization for capsicum spray. Detainees are subject to new procedures following the use of force, including medical examinations and reporting.
