These regulations amend the Mental Health Regulations 2015 to update the definition of 'transport officers' authorized to carry out transport orders under the Mental Health Act 2014. It expands the definition to include employees of contracted transport services and staff members of health service providers.
Health service providers and contracted transport services are affected. They need to ensure their employees who carry out transport orders meet the updated definition. Individuals subject to transport orders will be transported by a broader range of authorized personnel.
