These regulations amend the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. They introduce an 'exception period' for plant registration, allowing operation for up to 30 days after application, subject to certain conditions.
Businesses using plant specified in Schedule 5 Division 2 of the WHS Regulations are affected. They can operate unregistered plant for a limited period after applying for registration, provided they meet specific conditions, including having a record of inspection and assessment available.
