These regulations amend the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Regulations 2022 to insert provisions relating to local Aboriginal cultural heritage services, including reporting requirements and information requests. They also prescribe periods for certain sections of the Act and address transitional arrangements.
Local Aboriginal cultural heritage services are affected by new reporting obligations to the ACH Council. Applicants under section 38 of the Act may be required to provide further information. The regulations also clarify representation of local Aboriginal communities by CATSI Act or Corporations Act corporations.
