These regulations support the Major Events Act 2023, establishing the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 as major events, defining event areas and periods, and setting rules for advertising, infringement notices, and authorised officers.
Businesses and individuals operating within or near designated major event areas will be affected by restrictions on advertising and other activities. The regulations also impact authorised officers responsible for enforcing the Act and issuing infringement notices. Transport providers are affected by advertising exemptions.
