These regulations amend the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991 to update definitions, modify board appointment criteria and functions, and clarify licensing exemptions for apprentices and network operators. They also address insurance requirements for electrical contractors.
Electrical contractors, apprentices, network operators, and the Electrical Licensing Board are affected. Changes include revised board member appointment criteria, updated training and qualification monitoring, and clarified insurance requirements. Apprentices gain a temporary exemption while their training contract is processed.
