These regulations amend the Medicines and Poisons Regulations 2016 and the Health (Notification of Stimulant Induced Psychosis) Regulations 2010 to update requirements for prescriptions, medication charts, and real-time prescription monitoring.
Healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, podiatrists, midwives) must comply with new rules for prescriptions, medication charts, and reporting. Residential care facilities and hospitals are affected by changes to medication chart requirements. A real-time prescription monitoring system is introduced.
