These regulations amend the Environmental Protection Regulations 1987 to define 'restricted decisions' under section 41 of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, specifically concerning petroleum activities involving hydraulic fracturing and planning/development decisions.
Petroleum operators involved in hydraulic fracturing and planning authorities will be affected. Decisions related to hydraulic fracturing under specified regulations and decisions made under planning legislation are now classified as 'restricted decisions'.
