These regulations amend several existing regulations to replace references to the now-repealed Legal Practice Act 2003 with references to the Legal Profession Uniform Law (WA) and the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2022.
Legal practitioners and businesses operating under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015, Co-operatives Act 2009, Electricity Act 1945, Plumbers Licensing Act 1995, and Residential Tenancies Act 1987 will be affected by the updated legal references. This ensures consistency with current legal profession legislation.
