This order amends the Health Services (Fees and Charges) Order 2016 to redefine classes of compensable patients (day patient, in-patient, out-patient, and same day patient) and make related adjustments to fees and charges. It clarifies the criteria for determining compensable patient status and allows for exceptions under certain circumstances.
Health service providers will need to reassess patient classifications based on the new definitions of compensable patients. This may affect billing practices and revenue collection. Patients who have received or may be entitled to compensation for their injury, illness, or disease will be affected.
