Home Building Contracts Act 1991

These regulations amend the Home Building Contracts (Home Indemnity Insurance Exemptions) Regulations 2002. They introduce exemptions from home indemnity insurance requirements for certain multi-unit developments and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) buildings.

Builders and building owners are affected by the changes to home indemnity insurance exemptions. Purchasers of exempt buildings must be notified that HII cover is not in force. Building owners intending to use buildings as SDA must apply for enrolment within 12 months of practical completion.
