These rules amend the Liquor Commission Rules 2007 to update the definition of 'proceedings' in relation to applications under section 152YY(1) of the Liquor Control Act 1988, which concerns the Banned Drinkers Register. The amendments are implemented in stages.
Liquor licensees and the Liquor Commission will be affected by the changes to the definition of 'proceedings', particularly in relation to applications concerning the Banned Drinkers Register. The changes are temporary, with paragraph (g) being removed two years after the Banned Drinkers Register commences.
