These regulations amend the Navigable Waters Regulations 1958 to introduce a system for accrediting hull identification number providers and examiners, and to allow the chief executive officer to issue registration stickers. It also removes Part VII of the regulations.
The regulations affect vessel owners and those involved in hull identification. Approved providers and examiners are now accredited, and owners may need to engage accredited persons to affix/reaffix hull identification numbers. A small fee is introduced for registration stickers.
