This proclamation commences sections 35 and 36 of the Owner-Drivers (Contracts and Disputes) Act 2007 on 1 June 2023. It also notes the commencement of sections 17 and 18 of the Owner-Drivers (Contracts and Disputes) Amendment Act 2022 immediately after.
Owner-drivers and businesses engaging owner-drivers in Western Australia will be subject to the provisions of sections 35 and 36 of the Act from 1 June 2023. This may affect contract terms and dispute resolution processes.
