These regulations amend the Restraining Orders Regulations 1997. They correct a reference to section 49A of the Act and clarify the process for serving documents related to restraining orders, specifying that officers must take reasonable steps to serve documents as directed by the registrar.
Police officers, prison officers, and other authorised persons involved in serving restraining order documents will be affected by the clarification regarding the manner of service. The courts and individuals subject to restraining orders may also be indirectly affected by the changes.
