These regulations amend the Transport (Road Passenger Services) Regulations 2020 by defining 'large vehicle' and replacing Schedules 4 and 5, which relate to taxi fares in the metropolitan region and other regions of Western Australia.
Taxi operators and passengers in WA are affected. Operators need to adjust their metered rates according to the new schedules. Passengers will experience changes in fares, including flagfall, distance rates, detention rates, call out fees, guaranteed booking fees and surcharges.
