The City of Fremantle gives notice that owners and/or occupiers of land within the district are required to undertake firebreak works by 1 November 2026. Requirements vary based on land area (1500 sqm or less, or greater than 1500 sqm). Property inspections will be conducted between 1 November and 31 March each year. Failure to comply may result in a penalty of up to $5,000. Firebreaks must be maintained until 31 March 2027. Additionally, the City of Fremantle has appointed several Bush Fire Control Officers.
