The Council of the Shire of Toodyay resolved on 4 June 2026 to make the Dog Local Law 2026 under the powers conferred by the Local Government Act 1995 and the Dog Act 1976. This local law aims to regulate, control, and manage dogs within the Shire of Toodyay, covering requirements for keeping dogs, kennel establishments, public place controls, impounding, and enforcement.
