Under the powers conferred by the Bush Fires Act 1954 and the Local Government Act 1995, the Council of the Shire of Victoria Plains resolved on 16 May 2018 to adopt the following local law: Shire of Victoria Plains Bush Fire Brigades Amendment Local Law 2018. This local law comes into operation 14 days after the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.

Requires landowners/occupiers in the Shire of Victoria Plains to comply with bushfire risk reduction directives by March 29 annually.
Requires installation of firebreaks and fuel hazard reduction measures before October 1 and maintained until March 31.
Adopts the Shire of Victoria Plains Meeting Procedures Local Law 2018.
Corrects the title of the Bush Fire Brigades Amendment Local Law 2018.
