📜 Road Traffic (Administration) Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2026
These regulations amend the Road Traffic (Administration) Regulations 2014 to expand the purposes for which certain government departments can use personal information, specifically driver's licence, permit, and vehicle licence information. This includes verifying and disclosing information via a digital identity exchange and using it for administering cost of living relief measures.
The Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the department assisting in the administration of the Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008 will have expanded authority to use and share driver and vehicle information for digital identity verification and cost of living relief schemes. Individuals' personal information may be used for these additional purposes.
