🚆 Ultra-Light Desk-Top Simulators – High Capacity Signalling

PTA awarded a $1.69M contract to Corys for 11 ultra-light train driver simulators and 4 instructor stations for legacy and future CBTC training.

Supply and install 11 Ultra-Light Simulators (ULS), plus four Instructor Stations suitable for training Train Drivers in PTA Legacy train control and in the future, CBTC functionality. These ULS and Instructor Stations must have the functional capacity to operate the existing PTA legacy fixed block train operations plus the future CBTC moving block operations. The simulators must be configured to emulate PTA B-Series and C-Series Electric Multiple Unit urban passenger trains. The simulator controls should replicate the positions as used on PTA Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) trains. For example: PTA uses right hand operated single power/brake controls. These ULS must have the capability to have the current PTA Transperth Trains train driver simulator software, graphics and capability (the Legacy system) loaded into them, and be fully functional. In addition, the ULS will have the capability to have the CBTC software and functionality that will be developed for the PTA Transperth Trains train driver simulator installed when this becomes available. NOTE: The installation of the anticipated CBTC software functionality is not included in this procurement.

The Public Transport Authority awarded a contract valued at an estimated $1,692,528 via Limited Sourcing to Corys, a French company. There was only one submission received for this contract.
