A voluntary fisheries adjustment scheme is established, to be called the Specimen Shell Managed Fishery Voluntary Fisheries Adjustment Scheme 2026. The objectives of the scheme are to allow persons authorised to operate in the Fishery to surrender one or more authorisations, to facilitate leaving the Fishery; and reduce fishing effort to maintain the economic and operational viability of authorisation holders who remain in the fishery. The scheme will commence operation on the date this notice is published in the Gazette and cease operation on 18 December 2026.
